Law Enforcement

The apostle Paul told those in Rome to be in subjection to the governing authorities. He stated that all authority is from God, so those who resist the authorities, such as law enforcement, are resisting the law of God Himself. He goes on to give the reason why God backs earthly authorities, and that is because they are not to be a threat to those with good behavior, but against evil behavior. They do not bear the sword in vain, meaning that God has established for peace-keepers to have the power--weapons--to enforce the laws so that the peaceful behaviors established by the good people in a society may be enjoyed. See Romans 13. Law enforcement keeps peace within our borders, while the military protects us from foreign invaders.

Military

There are numerous examples in the Bible of the nation of Israel--God's people--defending themselves and protecting the land He promised them. The battles they lost always had a reason--somehow they got away from the commandments of God. When they were walking in obedience to Him, He would defend them. He would even give them military strategies, and speak to His prophets to give advance warning of what their enemies were planning (2 Kings 6:8-12). It is a biblical principle, and not just a principle but a mandate, to fight for and protect the land He gives us.

Why is Protecting Our Land so Important?

Of course there is the obvious reason of protecting freedom in America and our God-given right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We do it for the protection of innocent and God-fearing people. But in addition to that, just as we are not to allow sin to rule in our own lives, we are not to tolerate it on our land. God not only held Cain responsible for his brother's death after he killed him, but He drove him from the land as well. We are to honor God with our lives, and the land He has placed us in and entrusted us with.

Land of the Free, Home of the Brave, Led by the Wise

Because of threats in America, both inward and outward, threats which have tried to shake America off it's foundation--the very foundation which has kept us strong for over two centuries--because of this turmoil, Americans are gaining wisdom. Because of this, we will not only be the land of the free and the home of the brave, but we will be led by the wise. And not just wise leaders, but wise people. For we the people are the true leaders of America.
